Shape Of Wind
Revealing what is hidden
*Desktop only, designed to be projected.
This project began with the observation of clouds and how they slowly reshape themselves, e.g. the transformation of something over time. This lead to the idea of something which presense was appearent but hidden until its form was slowly revealed. As with many of my past work, I was heavily inspired by my favourite artist Giorgio de Chirico and metaphysical art, wanting to imbue a far future where landscape and formation was strange and unknown.
The space is dynamically randomized creating a landscape with a defined shadow of an object but no object. Wind particles blow across the screen hitting the unseen element building up shape over time. The animation resets every 5 minutes rebuilding the landscape and starting the wind to reveal a new object.
Experimented with music notes much like the Creation Forge project however with this I wanted to create random notes that played in a harmony rather than notes triggering at random. Each time a wind particle hits the unseen object, a note is playing from a sequence of notes from songs of my favourite musicians (Tool, Pink Floyd, etc). This makes the notes play have a chaotic harmony as the wind hits the object randomly but in a specific order.
